Tsab United Family of Wisconsin (TUFW) Leadership Training was held on Saturday, July 19th, 2014 at Fox Valley Lao-Hmong Association of Appleton, WI.
The Guest Speaker was Paj Thas Zam Nplooj Vaj. His speech was based on "What Does It Takes to be a Good Husband and Wife" and "How Do We Get Along?" He highlighted the essences of a marriage relationship base on; 1. Respectful verbal communication 2. Honesty 3. Trust
The Keynote Speaker was Dr. Xa Xiong, BA, DC, MD. His teaching was based on "What a Leader Should Know as a Leader and "How to Conduct an Effective Meeting?". "There are many different kind of leaders. Leadership does not occur overnight but involves a long treacherous process of hard work and “G.R.O.W. (GIVER, RESPECT, OPERATION, and WORK HARD) within it." Dr. Xiong discussed being a Benevolent Leader in the 21st Century and how it will impact the community. "In public services, being a BENEVOLENT LEADER (someone who provides service with charitable and kindness rather than self profit-making purpose) exemplify the quality of being a great leader who will empower others physically, economically, spiritually, and mentally within the community."
"There are three stages of conducting an effective meeting: 1. PREPARATION 2. ACTUAL MEETING 3. FOLLOW-UP
Dr. Xiong emphasized that define a clear goal of the meeting, select participants, prepare an agenda in advance, setting ground rules, arrive and start on time, track tasks and follow up are essential in conducting an effective meeting.
President of Chang United Family, Inc. - Nkia Pao Chang and President of Tsab United Family of Wisconsin - Zong Doua Chang received "Benevolent Medal of Honor: Commemorating Your Generous Service" from Dr. Xa Xiong Foundation: A Quest for Education in recognition of their diligent services to the community. Congratulations!
