The Hmong Organization Promoting Education (HOPE) held their annual conference with the theme of "Lighting the Torch: Empowering Present and Future Leaders Through Innovations As Well As Preserving Cultural Identity Conference on Saturday, January 30th, 2016, at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. There were more than 150 college students attended the conference. Dr. Xa Xiong, DC, MD was the keynote speaker for the conference. Dr. Xiong's keynote speech highlighted the categories of leadership (Enlighteners, Creators, Builders, and Sustainers) and the qualities of leadership in the 21st Century. He concluded with this statement, "Ask not what your community can do for you, ask what you can do for your community".
The conference was a great success!
